About the author

As a queer young adult—19 years old—James is conscious of the slack in the LGBT+ publishing industry, and tries to promote fiction and non-fiction in this genre wherever possible. He is transgender and pansexual, and has made it his personal pledge to include characters on the LGBT+ spectrum in all of his creative work, regardless of form due to the lack of their representation in published media. Additionally, he writes fanfiction for personal enjoyment, as he feels that this area of writing gives more freedom than others.

James is a reader as well as a writer. He is a fan of David Levithan (Two Boys Kissing); Alex London (Proxy, Guardian); Patrick Ness (More Than This, A Monster Calls); Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Stardust); and F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby, The Beautiful and Damned). His favourite book is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. He is currently exploring modernist poetry and is looking into short story anthologies following a great experience with Treats by Lara Williams.

His other interests outside of writing and reading include drawing (however badly), listening to music, swimming and cycling, and he likes to spend as much of his free time with his friends as possible. He likes sushi, lemonade, Scrabble and camping, and is also particularly fond of dogs.
